it may seem like the party is gone
but i dont think it was really here to begin with
i can't help but laugh just to shrug speech off
and of course i know that everybody else does this

silence is the one thing when i think imperfection
anyone can party martyr so we all laugh to bits
all we can change are only the substances
the only thing we cant is really just the conversation

on each of these places we've come to know

these details of us on how we've been good and bad
each brings me to that excitement that we once both had

a detail that i swore long gone and dead
but with each streetlight it feels like a resurrection

surrounded in the place where we both learned how to live

ill never forget back when we first met when you and i we were only kids

and you know ill always love seeing you even if the details aren’t particularly new
